Fix my pain, Please!

No new posts

If it were as simple as saying "Fix my pain, please!".

Chronic Pain becomes further complicated as it frequently begins as a side affect as a result of an injury or illness, but continues over time to become a primary medical condition in of itself.  Despite the multitude of treatment options, Chronic Pain many times eludes any "fix" from even the most experienced medical expert using state-of-the-art medical procedures and techniques.

Share your thoughts based upon your own experience as you struggle to "fix your pain".

Government Oversight: Painkillers

Government action to manage prescription opioid pain medications

The US Government is proposing action to strictly control who gets opioids and how much opioid is prescribed.  In essence, it very well may be the Government, and not your physician, who would dictate your opioid medication treatment.

Without question, accidental deaths from opioid painkiller overdoses is at epidemic proportions.  Unsafe opioid prescription writing practices from certain medical professionals along with questionable profit motivation from Big Pharma add to the complication.  Click on mypainweb.com to review steps being taken by the Government to reverse this tragic trend.

Share your thoughts. Is it possible that these efforts may threaten the safe long term opioid treatment used by many Chronic Pain sufferers?

Contemplating surgery to treat my Chronic Pain

Many Chronic back pain sufferers who have undergone back surgery report same or worsening Chronic Pain after back surgery.  This tragic outcome is so prevalent, that a medical condition has been created for these Chronic Pain sufferers called Failed Back Surgery Syndrome (FBSS).

Back surgery is yet another complicated & controversial Chronic Pain core issue.  Visit mypainweb.com to learn more.

Had back (or neck) surgery?  Would you do it over again if given the opportunity?  Would you recommend back surgery to others?

Considering surgery is a decision that should be made only after one obtains feedback from others who have taken the surgical option to treat a similar condition(s).  While there are medical circumstances requiring back surgery, it behooves the Chronic Pain sufferer to make the best possible long term decsion as surgery is not "reversible" and comes with many serious risks.

This forum will be of significant help to the Chronic Pain sufferer contemplating surgery.
